Chattanooga, Tennessee is the location of one of the most bizarre abodes we have ever seen; the UFO house, which has a single entry point via a button activated stair case, curved bar area and customized bathtub, as well as various UFO paneled controls throughout that are simply priceless, or so you would think.
The house was originally put together in the 1970s, and as such, many of the fittings now have a retro feeling, but that just adds to the charm. The space dwelling is now up for sale, and it is to go under the hammer this very day, which has us counting the Benjamins. Unfortunately, the 2000 sq ft extra terrestrial base station, with three floors, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen, living room and scenic view has already attracted a $100,000 bid, which plants it about $99,999 out of our budget. Oh boy, it's back to our slimy, grimy, shoe box of an office until another UFO house comes on the market. We're optimistic. [CityNews]

I want! Will the seller fly it out to LA?
I appreciate the simple design, but I'm not sure papier-mâché is the best material for surviving re-entry.
it will be awesome if there's a "secret" space station and the new owner will discover that the house can actually fly or much better teleport! swiiiisshhhh!!!
The circumference of this structure divided by its diameter seems vaguely familiar to me.
I've lived in Chattanooga for years. This house is always up for sale, then sold, then up for sale, then sold.. etc.
If it weren't on the side of a mtn, it would be good for flooding though.
How do you get a pool table up there?
@scarbrtj: pi?

This is too easy.
Build a small cone-shaped addition to the left side and then add some "mandible-like" storage structures to the front.
Millenium Falcon!!!!!
Flip THAT house!
@rtwod2: The greatest, biggest Falcom would be the Olympic Satadium in Montreal, just flip the inclined tower on it side and here it is!

Not only does it creep out the neigbors, but it would be really hard to break into.
I live in Chattanooga and this house is pretty cool, but I hope whomever buys it likes living on a mountain!
Living on a mountain, advantages-beauty. Disadvantages, hmm, life threatening driving in the snow, oops, need an ambulance-wait an hour, uh oh, snow you say-you die!
Nearest grocery-half hour drive ideal conditions.
Yes even on a mountain horrible floods, rain hits the rock and runs!
No thanks, 4 years of Pa mountain living will last me a lifetime!
Throw in some gun slits and we have a PERFECT Zombie fort here.

@cidion: Now that I'm living in Chattanooga again, I haven't been back by this house. Just as you say though, I remember it being for sale all the time as a child, so can't imagine that anyone was too pleased with the place. However, in response to Fountainhead, it's really not far at all from the grocery store and all, but the road to it is quite the b*tch. Only 100 G's? I thought it would be more, but seeing the housing market as it is, well...
for real. i'm from chattanooga and the property is worth way more than 100g's. the view from the mtn. is amazing...while the house had been for sale numerous times, i think one of the stipulations has been that it can't be torn down... on that note, i would pay way more than that (if i had it) for the house and property. I used to love driving by it as a kid.
I heard about this on NPR the other day. Apparently it is kinda in a state of disrepair, with a handyman being a recommended buyer. The biggest drawback in my eyes? The retractable stairs which come down out of the craft are broken and stuck in the down position; first thing I'd fix if I lived in it.
I believe this was featured on an episode of "What's With That House" or another similar show.
It's VERY 70's and quite frankly, not appealing on the inside. It's needs some major renovations.
Sold for $135,000.
Wow that looks hideous.
