The Japanese have all the fun. Just checkout these limited edition Zippo lighters. Embellished with a super hot Transformers design, only 300 will be made, all of which will be allocated to the Land of the Rising Sun. Each Zippo carries its own unique identifier number, and they will be available in either black or silver, which are both equally as fabulous. Retailing at around 12,000 yen, there really has never been such a good reason to take up smoking. [desinformado via Akihabara]

transform your lungs into cancer
Giz: In other zippo related news, Zippo released a windproof/jet-flame style zippo a month or two back that I don't think you ever reported on. It's pretty sweet, and fairly groundbreaking in the Zippo world.
BOO, just give me one with the original Autobots/Decepticons logo, not the movie Prime.
there's other uses for lighters other than smoking you know.
campfires, fancy drinks, molotov cocktails, horrible pranks, etc.
I still want the shark lighter Pyro had in X-Men...
OMG!! I JUST SMOKED!
Does it transform into a tiny, lighter-fluid fueled truck?
yeah i'll take the black one, and a case of your finest cigars. it'll transform oversized cuban cancer sticks into the most stylish way to die since that whole lemmings shit.
You guys never learned that smoking is cool back in the 7th grade?
Hmm...
@Keebler: You mean this one? [www.zippoblu.com]
@ry_ry:
Yep, that's the one.
@Final: This.
Dear Gizmodo: the new re-imagined Transformers and any product associated with it is not a "win". Get it?
I actually want that.
I have no use for it. But I guess I could just carry it around and be cool.
Zippo has always been pretty good at doing tie-ins that aren't whorish.
If you're in the beautiful Bradford, PA area I heartily suggest a tour through the Zippo/Case Visitor's center.
It's fun, but Case seriously needs a multi-tool.
The TF logo looks conspicuously like the "Fallen" logo.
TF logo looks conspicuously like the Team Fortress logo.
It would make more sense to have a Michal bay one, that causes randoms things to explode when you flick it. Thus allowing you to light up in style.
Personally I prefer my Rolling Stones Zippo - link.
I'd have a Led Zeppelin one if the made them with the same sort of engraved design but I don't think they exist.
@Keebler: Seriously, the blu isn't the greatest thing in the world. I read bad reviews of it, and when I got mine, had most of the same problems I read. It's a pain to light, and is weird when it comes to filling. I have a MPL, so I'm used to filling Zippo butane lighters, but the only advantage to the blu over all my other lighters is that it doesn;t dry out.
OK, I am seriously in love with the autobot symbol that appears when you open it. The worst thing about these lighters is that no one who collects like me wants to break the seal on the lighters, and my display cases don't do part-way-open Zippos.
My lighter has Tanya Harding's face on it. It nearly singed my eyebrows off.
Japan always gets the best Zippos. Real limited editions too.
Don't be fooled, they call them robots in disguise for a reason! These things are gonna try to take over the world.. last thing i need is my zippo transforming into a destructive fighting robot...
..actually.. maybe thats no so bad.. would actually be kinda cool
No need to smoke, there's always the need on July, 14th and New Year's Eve.
use it to light candles, aromatherapy incense, etc.
iWant !!!
I love transformers MUCH more than the next guy, but I hate what michael bay has done to this franchise.
give me giant robots, not shaky cameras and rocket fuel explosions.
@feckineejit: But all that stuff is "awesome"!
yeah - so now for all of us that grew up on transformers in the early 80's are well past the age we can legally smoke - time to take it up and have some nostalgia to boot_
@Efflux:
Looks more like Funk-Master-Flex's logo to me..
