This bookake looks as disgusting as the real Amazon Kindle. Not because it's a bad cake. I'm sure it tastes great and the details are accurate. The problem is that, unfortunately, the chef didn't have a lot to start with. Brian says that all this baking is good for Kindle. It's all about what he calls "The Cake Factor":
Brian Lam's Cake Factor: no one makes a gadget cake unless they love the gadget, so this is a good sign for Kindle
A "good sign"? I completely disagree with him, and I have definitive proof:

I rest my case.
What do you think?

Cakes?
Haven't heard much of cakes in a while.
Stupid bastards never would put on a pot of coffee...
I got a cake that looks like a macbook. it was really cool
God dammit. I really MUST be slipping. I can't believe I missed "bookake".
Damn you ravages of old age!!
'bookake'? sounds awfully close to 'bukkake'. no cake (or kake) for me, please.
Bookake... I totally did not think of a portmanteau of 'book' and 'cake' when I first read that.
the newton cake would be worlds better if it didn't actually say happy birthday, but something amusingly close. My 2100 was and still is great, but IIRC the 120 handwriting recognition was still pretty bad
The cake is a lie!!
The cake is a lie!!
@jiznerdo:
EVERYONE PANIC! HE GOT, IT! BOOKAKE SOUNDS LIKE BUKKAKE!
@Narual:
the newton should say:
Haggy Girth May
Thank you Abnormal. Someone needed to say it.
Pie > Cake
And yes, I'm counting cheesecake as a pie.
Does anyone have any sales/returns figures for the Amazon Kindle? I was skeptical when I heard it touted as the "must have" gift this holiday season. I was curious how well it sold, and how many have been returned.
@Abnormal: DAMNIT! Beat me to the punch!
the band CAKE trumps all.
So what are the chances the Newton cake was actually made while the product was still on the market?
It's a lie, FYI.
"Is Getting a Caked..."? Hmmm... ;-)
kindle defines the word "fugly". look at amazon site. it has kindle as the number one seller with ipod as second. jeez. i used to like amazon. so much for credibility of the company.
@packetsniffer: My thoughts exactly...
@nutbastard: Lol! Extra points for a small pic of a hand with stylus 'crossing' out the misspelled words. I sort of miss my Newton...
@packetsniffer: Yeah, is this a typo? Or some reference I'm not getting?
I sure wish Gizmodo would hire a monkey to proofread these posts :(
I'd say having a gadget cake is either a good thing or a bad thing. Either you love it so much you want to immortalize it on your birthday (like that awesome Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cake you had when you were 5) or you hate it so much that you want nothing more on your birthday than to ritually sacrifice its effigy with all of your friends.

I rest my case against your case Jesus Diaz...
