With just two weeks to go before the fourth and final season of Battlestar Galactica hits the Sci-Fi Channel, the cast's big hitters appeared on David Letterman last night to give us ten reasons why we should watch the first episode on April 4. Number Six was good, but Saul Tigh, at number five, was even better. Get. Em. Off! [YouTube]

That rocked!! I like that Number Six was number six.
I love battlestar and other than #5, it really wasn't funny. Letterman's good for 1 laugh an episode, even when he has an entire hit shows cast backing him up. Why couldn't starbuck have done a joke like "You'll find out my secret, I used to be a dude."
LOL!
its "Adama" not "Obama"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And there I was, thinking Obama was a Cylon all along. (I think this joke is Hillaryous)
I don't need a top ten list. You had me at "Battlestar Galactica."
Dave, you are the man.
Have been since the morning show.
Always will be.
Wow! The actors are even awful at reading a top ten list.
@wjousts: I was thinking the exact same thing -- terrible delivery all around.
Adama not Obama! The tags are still wrong. I'm obsessed with both and now you're getting me confused!
@wjousts: Excuse me, wasn't #9 Lucy Lawless? Don't diss LL, she'll kick your ass.
Interesting it was on Letterman's show, which is a CBS show, since the SciFi channel is an NBC subsidiary.
Wasnt funny, but YEY! BSG BSG BSG!
Awesomeness! Lucy Lawless is still on the show... interesting.
*still won't watch David Letterman
They were on Letterman...so that means they are all here in NYC! I have to find them. Did that sound stalkerish?
@rsquared: Not if I join the Chuck Norris fan club she won't. She wouldn't dare.
Starbuck (Katee Sackhoff) was kinda funny; not so much the joke, but she has decent delivery.
Also, Letterman is HUGELY overrated.
I like when Jamie Bamber's accent collapsed.
He's one of the best Brit actors at doing an "American Accent". He's far superior to John Barrowman (well, both his accents are less than convincing ;-)).
He has no "tells" that I've managed to detect.
The one thing that bugs me about BSG is that they are even lower-tech than we are, except for their ships and the Cylons. I think they use 3-Mu Scotch Tape in Laura Roselin's tape dispenser, and I think she gets her glasses from Lensfrackers. Amazing coincidences!

Aside from budgetary concerns, I think this is what makes shows like BSG click with a larger audience - they're relatable. They take place in a far-away galaxy with technology we can't even dream of.... and yet their day to day things are very similar to ours.
Besides, this is the kind of thing you really can't think about too much, just like you can't think about the fact that we have dozens (if not hundreds?) of languages on planet Earth and yet all 12 colonies in the BSG world speak English (or at the very least the same language).
@NaleAne: A bit, yea.
Let us know where they are when you find them so we can flash mob them!!
@darex: Yea, I was surprised to find he was a brit! Better than Hugh Laurie's annoying nasal House too.
@strider_mt2k: You mean since Mork and Mindy.
haha that was pretty good. Obviously number 6 and 5 were the best. Cant wait til april 4.
Dave's writers must be fans.
That was great!
Damn that SUUUUUUCCKKKKed on so many levels.
the Blond is hot ... YEA WE GET IT ... and a typicial #5 saying that. Letterman has not been funny in YEARS. I use to like the Top 10 lists.
Now I remember why I don't watch Letterman.
@AhnyerKeester: Better than Hugh Laurie's annoying nasal House too.
The thing that has always bothered me about House is that it's the same accent that Hugh Laurie used to use when he was mocking Americans on "A Bit of Fry & Laurie".
I've never been able to get past Hugh Laurie's previous work on Blackadder and Jeeves and Wooster to believe him in a serious role anyway.
for any BSG fans out there, this was funny.
yet it was sad too.
that we are BSG fans.
was that a haiku?
seriously tho, i think that 'starbuck' had the perfect line, it was truly how her character would react. also funny to hear jamie with his britt accent.
Yeah number 6 was nice. They were all pretty good.
@EBone: also interesting was the veiled reference to Lost...also on another network.
Starbuck's should have been...
Because it's the only fraking show where we get to say Frack as much as we want and no fraking censors frak with with us
@Darrone:
That would have been the funniest of the list.
Sad the writers didn't think of it.
Old DL really has lost it. Did his writers retire during the writers strike and he had to go out and get 5 year olds?
Battlestar Galactica is a fantastic show with fantastic actors and fantastic writers.
The Late Show is a craptastic show with a craptastic host and craptastic writers.
Nekkid blonde Cylons!
Nekkid blonde Cylons!
Nekkid blonde Cylons!
And people watch this show?
Jeez, Dave. Pretty much phoning 'em in, nowadays, aren't we?
Couple of funny bits, but overall very disappointing. Maybe that's why the actors' deliveries were so bad: they knew the material wasn't funny.
This doesn't even compare to the Top 10 list of Words That Sound Cool When Spoken By James Earl Jones.
Fine, #5 can be nekkid so long as we get to see #4 nekkid, too.
Come to think of it, I think we have seen as much of Jamie Bamber as we have of Tricia Helfer.
