OK, so take this with a dashing of salt; the guys at Monster and Friends have apparently spotted the first pics of the iPhone App Store, which appeared on a user's iPhone in place of a connection error alert. The user, Drunkenbass of Monster and Friends managed to have a look around the Genres and Top 50 sections, and he spied a Facebook and Checkers app. Jump in to grab another shot of all gray, app store excitedness. (Yeah, I made that word up. )
The look of the alleged store appears to be very similar to installer.app, and why not? It sure as hell works. Strangely, the applications already had a shed load of user ratings, but if this is part of Apple's testing routine, that fact is probably not too out of place. What do you, the discriminating public make of it all? [Monsterandfriends via Modmyifone]

And their on T-Mobile? Wouldn't the first shots of the store be on the AT&T network/in the US?
This is going to be good. This was good planning by Apple because now people will have a good reason to ditch the 8gb and buy the 16gb to hold more apps
@FlashSandbox: Jailbreak?
It seems a bit fishy to me, though.
Why do those apps have 302 and 502 reviews already?
Seems like a jailbreak to me
This looks real to me. It could be that it's in Germany, and that's why it is on T-Mobile, otherwise it is unlocked. But it has already been jailbroken by the dev team, and Pwnage is meant to be able to unlock as well, so why not? It is exactly the same as it was at the Apple Event anyway. Go to [live.gizmodo.com] and scroll down, and you can see that this is the same as the screenshots. Also, apparently Apple have removed the Web Apps from the store now, so it could be that the testing phase is over.
@FlashSandbox:
These pictures won't necessarily come from the US
@areyoubeefin: i could be wrong but i don't think those are reviews, i think they are how many apps are available in that category...although 300+ blog and forum apps doesnt seem to make mush since either
1) It's a test. When you test stuff, you put up a bunch of FAKE reviews. They would be testing number positioning and the possibility of overflow.
2) It's a 2.0 jailbroken and unlocked phone, most likely from the Dev Team (google Pwnage Project).
@soulman: It's much more likely that apple is testing out the review part of the application. However all in all, i'd say its bogus.
If there are 346 Blogs & Forums and 132 Business apps, then their are 478 total apps in the store. Why are there only two in the top 50??? Are facebook and checkers the only good ones at this point? lol
Yeah, like I'm going to believe someone that breaks their iPhone. (Yes, I know it's Jailbreak, but it's broken...or it soon will be come June.)
is probably german, the iphone and sdk are available outside the us
i'm just going to say fake on this... mostly because i doubt apple would use anything but their own interface for things... they dont like to conform.
I'd believe the bottom bar but the rest seems a little boring for the app store, just look at the mobile music store.
am i getting this right? they want us to PAY for a facebook app?? ok thatll happen really. im paying right now
Fake. It doesn't have that Apple "feel" (e.g., it's not white), and how do you already have 300-500 people reviewing the apps?
Try again.
Calm down people, those are only web apps you're seeing. Kinda dumb that it would be there, but yeah..
Yeah, its real, just look at how many bars it shows for T-Mobile(ATT) :-)
To be honest I dont think its real. Its not apply enough. I know when its apply or not....
No, it's real - on March the 6th, Apple showcased the AppStore, and it showed the exact same interface seen here. It is not a fake. And you don't have to unlock to get T-MOBILE, there's a country called Germany, did you know, and iPhone's are used on T-MOBILE there. Not everything comes out in the USA first!
One problem I see is how does Apple go about organizing so many Apps? Their "Deck" system will be better than traditional cellphones, but there will be a bottleneck at the top!
What is a Budcase anyway?
