Convicted murderer and future American Idol contestant Charles Manson has used the liberal Creative Commons license to release a new 16-track album from prison. The album, called, ironically, One Mind, is free to download at LimeWire. As an added bonus, the CC license allows listeners to copy the tracks as much as they want and distribute them, so long as they don't use them for commercial purposes-like starting a cult or something. Hear the man himself croon a killer tune after the jump at about the 1:15 mark.

crazy mother fucker
..Wow.. Great job Criminal Rehabilitation Facility!
WTF was that at 2:33???
THE GAME IS MINE!!!! Nike should sign this guy up. "You'll RUN like a bitch, in your new kicks, knowing Manson's behind ya"....
That guy is out of his freaking mind, I think if you shot him in the head he'll just keep living, like Britney spears in South Park.
I will never stop laughing at that video.
You know why he still acts so crazy? - it's the fact that he still gets "protection" from the Hell's Angels who pretty much control any kind of money coming his way through pics he draws, signed photos etc that end up with private collectors etc (apparently this is quite a big business). The more doolally he acts the more money they can get. In the old days they controlled all the visitors that he used to get and made sure they always came with drugs.
(This was shown on a recent BBC documentary in the UK about the Hell's Angels)
@media_lush: yo link that doc?
I watched the program live - it was about 3 months ago on BBC2 (I think) and was a documentary about the history of Motorcycle gangs with the emphasis on their extent/influence on crime in general. A lot of the interviews where actual "retired" members/prisoners who talked about how the Angels controlled the drug trade in prisons and how they took control of Manson when he entered the system. They offered protection from the other cons for quite a lot of money which he initially took - but then he stopped paying and he was immediately attacked - scared out of his wits he took the protection again - but now at a much higher cost. The angels - to this day - regard him as a way of making money.
I don't have a link but I vaguely remember that it was a joint production with A&E or Discovery)
huh. if not for the fact that he has a swastika on his head, and i know that he is charles freaking manson, he would seem like a cool guy. or at least, interesting.
But there you have it: incontrovertible evidence that even cons won't sign to a label; a bigger prison than prison.
I wish I could "roll them nickels" like Charles Manson. Then the game would be mine! Now that I've seen his personality on TV, I'm worried: I've ridden the bus with some crazy people speaking like that.
Guaranteed No.1 download - "Never Gonna Give You Up" as sung by Charles Manson
Hey... it's time to play "Name the Schizophrenic Thought Disorder"! I saw:
* self-referent delusions
* pressured speech
* derailment
* clanging
* incoherence
* illogicality
What'd I miss???
ima box car....anda juggha wine.....
@P3nnst8r:
Yep... that part of this video was pretty much the weirdest thing I've ever seen.
"I got a motorcycle and a sleeping bag, and 10 or 15 girls, what the hell I wanna go off an' go to work for?"
I gotta say... That's amazing. From anyone else, that would be a classic line.
@monkeybars: From him, you know one of those girls is going to be mutilated at some point during the night.
Manson makes alot of sence in some of his interviews. the interview with Geraldo is one of the best.
+ Watch video
if Charles interests you than watching that interview.
I personally dont think he is a crazy Evil Guru or mastermind, I think that he has always had some interesting different things to say and he had some people follow him because of it. I do think his character was realy built up to the level of associating his name to pure Evil or Hitler.
I actually feel sorry for him.
yeah.... but what are you gonna do with "all the money in the world" with your ass in jail?
Thank god this retard is locked up. One question though. How the hell do you record an album in prison?
This guy gives me the creeps.
I can't stop laughing! I love this mental son of a bitch!
"Nobody... *funny face* I'm nobody"
Damn, he's hilarious!
I'm listening to the album right now... It sounds pretty good, actually :P
this album sucks!
So what's his style? ...Christian Rock?
Devendra Banhart has been channeling Manson's musical characteristics for years, I always thought. *tongue in cheek*
For reference the Hell's Angels have always stated the did not run or distribute drugs. Most likely they would have killed Manson rather than protected him as they abhorred the type of killing he did. The BBC reporting on America is like Fox news reporting on well anything.
Manson actually tried to be a musician in the 60s before he settled on cult leader. He hung out with a couple of the Beach Boys and actually wrote a song for them that I don't think they ever recorded.
It's too late to fall in love with Sharon Tate.
Where have you guys been? Never heard his first album "lie." It's actually pretty damn good. I'm not really into that campfire sing-a-long buzz or eating out of dumpsters either, but it contains some rather good tracks, no shit. He ain't no Bob Dylan, but I'm sure he was much more inspired back then before he went to prison. I doubt this new album is any good, now that he is just another crazy schmuck in the pen.
Also check "The Manson Family Opera," not done by him, but the soundtrack to a play about him and the crew. Def'ly good heady psycho-delic stuff.
Didn't he do some crap for guns and roses? i tink he wrote a son on the Spaghetti Incident!?!
i should look that up or something
If he wasn't a batshit crazy serial killer, he'd be a pretty fun dude to hang out with. You never know WHAT he's gonna do.
