This rather worthy-looking laptop is Fujitsu's WoodShell. Made with cedar wood, it's part of the Japan Design Innovation 2008 exhibit at the Salone Internazionale Del Mobile in Milan, an event for furniture strokers everywhere. There's a picture of the WoodShell with its lid down below, and you've got to love Fujitsu's take on a generic 70s sci-fi font, not to mention its black-and-red-ness.

Actually that isn't badly done at all.
I'd have the usual concerns for a wooden enclosure for this application, but it's use of fabric is also really nice looking.
The whole thing looks like someone took it seriously.
Odd...usually when you get wood from a computer, it's due to the sites you are visiting.
this is really nice.
hope the heat won't kill it though.
Let's hope the battery doesn't catch on fire...
I love the idea, the coloring, and the texturing. Unfortunately, the form is pretty standard Fujitsu.
But I hope more folks try this direction. I love that look.
It looks nice, but wood is an insulator... I would be concerned about heat dissipation.
@liveinvt: I'm sure the heatsinks aren't made of wood.
i don't know, i kinda like it, yet it is kind of a blehhh like, different? yes
better? hard to say
seems like the light colored cloth would get nasty in a hurry, i just don't think either would hold up long term
I. Like. That. Computer.
I WANT ONE! I WANT ONE NOW!
...Seriously, I should mod my laptop to have a wooden case like that.
