College Humor is running a parody of Steve in Keynote mode, we know it isn't the first or won't be the last, but it has some of the Steve's actions, crowd reactions and the overall atmosphere pretty much down to perfection. On top of all that, it does a good job at making us laugh—just look at the damn product description! The sketch even includes a commercial demonstration, and the whole clip is quality through and through. Hit the link for the video and then let us know if you'd be first in line to purchase the i. We definitely would—hey, it's chromy, glassy and shiny. [College Humor]

ZOMG ROFL JESUS!
Awesome! I want one! :)
This is REALLY OLD - you guys need to get out on the internets more often. Next you'll be telling us about this shark attack on a navy seal, with actual photo!
Did anyone else notice the hilarious geometrically wrong description of the airholes?
@mmeister: Old or not it's still funny.
Pythagoras > Jobs
This is just about as useful as most Mac products.
Overpriced, underfeatured. You can build the same thing yourself with a beachball, spray paint, and a power drill.
No "Booms" from fake steve?
I'm 99% sure you guys already posted this
I always felt part of parody was subtlety, but these guys felt different. Could have been good though.
@redkamel: i agree, not funny in the slightest. For a good reference of 'parody' I'd suggest the movie 'Airplane!'
Wow...the most unfunny thing I've seen a while.
Yeah, Airplane was real subtle. Where this clip failed was in it's timing ... it was just paced way too slow. The fatuous pretentiousness of it all was quite nicely captured, though.
Are they crazy! Polonium Beryllium is illegal on most no-nuke campuses!!!
In before the flame war :)
booooring. not even remotely funny.
its funny if your paying attention, ie what the metals do, that 1 inch diagonally and left and up is impossible, and the is it love thing.
awesome.
I only thought the last ten seconds were funny
Well that depends on how rich you are. The wealthy you are the less expensive it will seem and now john mayer
classic.
Apple parodies are good times because fanboys get defensive and are always like "OMG, that is soo not funny at all.."
/is shot
I kept waiting for the funny part, but didn't see it.
O well, it was worth a try.
The 90's aren't important
Haha!
Yep, CollegeHumor is most certainly paying Gawker to post links to its unbelievably bad videos.
As I said on Kotaku, this shit is worse than SuperDeluxe, which is hard to do! It's almost an laudable achievement.
Pretty funny stuff. I'm sure most of you got your hopes up, dreaming about that 3G iPhone.
that sucked.. D=
Fanboys mad because they got made fun of :)
I thought Jobs' keynotes were parodies of themselves. If I recall correctly the first lines of the iPhone speech matched perfectly the first lines of his introduction of Lisa (you know, the project that he named after his daughter, then abandoned and ran into the ground).
If Steve Jobs isn't the sort of guy who can publicly conjure up images of one of his most obvious and spectacular failures with the launch of every new product, just to make sure no one takes him or his turtleneck too seriously, I just don't know who he is.
This seems to be some kind of isolation pod/mini deathstar.
*Yawn* Talk about predictable and boring! These "college humor" folks ought to go back to comedy school ... and learn something about humor this time.
@Brau: Ok, so it's called college humor. It's a lame site, aimed at frat boy types who are so bored there isn't a kegger going on, they sit in a dorm room or apartment, get trashed, and watch videos online. It has to be predicatable and boring. These are the people who think Scary/Superhero/Epic/Whatever Movie are all good flicks.
Lets not really hold them to a higher level, because the target audience are a bunch of morons.
supple? I just saw an ad for supple drink. What does supple refer to in this context?
@nojo:
i dont think a power drill and a beach ball will play well
i think the commercial ruined it
Funny....but too long. Reminds of SNL skits when they just drag on and on and on...
@sicknick: All those movies sucked...except Scary Movie 2, idc what you say it was HILARIOUS.
Honestly I thought it would be funny and while I understood the holes being impossible and blady blady blah, it was annoying and lame. Except when he said the 90's weren't important, lol.
@lianna_g: yeah, especially when he kept telling his life story over and over and over, and over...
I still love the movie, and I cant wait to find it on HD. Perhaps a beter description of a subtle parody might be Galaxy Quest. And besides, Sigourney looked pretty damn good in that push up she was sportin'!
@mhlaxp:Hmmm, here's a theory, maybe it's not Steve... Maybe his turtleneck is one of our soon to be robotic overlords... Its controlling him to establish some sort of "foothold" scenario, spreading tiny robotic instruments of our destruction as a race throughout the globe while we blissfully hum along, (all the while, bashing their first attempt *gasp* Bill Gates!) Just a theory, but think about the flaming battery ipods; maybe some of the drones awoke early and fulfilled their true programming by trying to kill their users? It's just a thoery, but God help us if there are any Mac's in charge when they fire up that uber-laser star machine out there in sunny California.
Lol, oh well, thats my contribution to the conspiracy web for today...
so that's what was chasing Indiana Jones in the beginning of Raiders
Mildly amusing, but not hilariously funny. And now, John Mayer
hilarious! anyone who says different is too dumb to get it and is probably viewing this page on a Mac.
Pretty funny! Doesn't Steve tuck in his shirts though?
Pfffft. Microsoft already has the Z ball with twice the features, plus 3G and GPS. Available. Today. Any idiot that would pay twice as much for the Apple i is just paying for the stupid logo and so they can show it off at their local Starbucks while they sip their cappuccinos, complain about global warming, and roll it annoyingly around the floor. Besides, Palladium is ugly and isn't good for reception.
Hmm... I like shiny. And Chrome. And round things. I MUST HAVE IT! Wait, it doesnt do anything? Ok. I MUST HAVE IT!
lame
@Pope John Peeps II: Yeah a^2 + b^2 != c^2 :).
His closing sentence was hilarious:
"How much will it cost? Well that depends on how rich you are. The wealthier you are, the less it'll seem. And now John Mayer."
This does not seem to be going over to well with the "YES MASTER" crowd....
@halfpastme: i dont think a power drill and a beach ball will play well
That's the missing BOOM!
It's funny deal with it. Just kiss your iPhone and tell it "Daddy won't let anybody hurt you."
I thought it was pretty funny, the ending was the best though.
Yeah, you who enjoyed this swill, just keep telling yourselves that those who expressed displeasure are merely apple fanboys; that should make you feel not so stupid and humorously challenged.
I hate Apple and its products. Nice-looking, but overpriced, and not remotely innovative.
I'm a fanboy and I thought it was funny. One of the secrets to a happy life is the ability to laugh at yourself, and man, does this video make fun of the Mac cult to a T.
It has a very "Mr. Show" feel to it, for some reason.
