We can't imagine this bottle opener would have any use in the Star Trek universe (rudimentary hyper spanner, perhaps?), but here at home in 2008 anything that reeks of Trek and assists with inebriation is an indispensable tool. As you can see, the metal opener is all sorts of shiny, and is styled after the original Enterprise NCC-1701. The nacelles serve as leverage to help you crack open a Romulan Ale, Cardassian Ale, or just a plain ol' Budweiser. Expect this to hit store shelves at the end of June for about $23. [Red5]

Prune juice for me, thanks.
Yeah. Because Star Trek fans are known for their crazy drunken benders.
@ZeroCorpse:
That would be Futurama fans.
@strider_mt2k: Brilliant. Simply brilliant.
Star Trek fans are known for being Warped....
@strider_mt2k: like, really, where do you come up with these things? best commenter, ever. i think you and nutbastard should have a conversation and post the transcript haha.
Prune juice: the drink of warriors.
Synth-ale, synthehol is the generic term for the alcohol replacement.
Personally, I'll take Aldebran Whiskey. It is...It is...It is green.
I'm not a star trek geek nor do I drink but that's pretty cool.
Romulan ale for me please.
@Superevil: Wha...What?
@Sleeper_Service: Isn't Romulan ale illegal?
It doesn't look as if they're shipping to The U.S. and A.
@Monoplex:
Didn't you know, there aren't any Star Trek fans in the U.S.
This is freakin' sweet!
Hrmm, the only improvement I could see is sound effects. Perhaps a chirp, or bosons whistle, or Data's drink analysis.
@Blue387: Yes, but I use it only for medicinal purposes.
Alright i'm going to go ahead and need that right now. Looks like its no more using my teeth for this guy!
At 44, Im just old enough to remember Star Trek's entry into modern TV. While Sci-Fi has changed with the times, the story always pivoted on an exploratory and non threatening and accepting venue. We are humans and due to hubris, we believe we can conquor anything. TAKE THAT Global Warming! LOL. Anyway...this is the first Trek item Ive seen for many years that wasnt totally tacky...I want one
i suppose Saurian Brandy and Klingon Bloodwine both have corks?
either way... the nacelles on a ship of that vintage would be above the saucer not below. and... it is freaking huge! seriously! look at the pic in a guys hand! you could club someone to death with it.

@Blue387:
Don't tell the space cops!
OK, you can get it shipped to the U.S. but have to go to the second page to get an option for international shipping.
I would imagine that the nacelles could easily get bent trying to open a particularly difficult bottle or after repeated use. Looks cool, but probably not the most practical bottle opener in the world.
@Blue387: only undre Federation Law_
But we're not a part of the Federation yet_
So knock yourself out_
