We already asked about the size of your TV, so it is only fitting that we do a follow-up focusing on computer monitors. The choices after the break offer a basic range that should accommodate owners of most laptops, LCDs and CRTs. Just pick the number that is closest to the measurement of your viewable area (rounding up if necessary). That having been said, if you own a CRT, keep in mind that the two types of monitors are measured differently. Make sure your figure does not include the screen frame. UPDATE: TV monitor option added.

It's not the size of the screen.
It's the girth of the peen.
I have two 17s
61"
(htpc)
only 19 inch ultra sharp. Girlfriend said it's good enough.
lame joke #44..."thats what she said", (could have also made "dongle" comment)
24 inch widescreen
19" widescreen.
Does for now.
37" 1080p Sceptre LCD TV
47" - and I hope scarbrtj is wrong, or I'm in a bad place right now!
that's what she said DAMNIT why did someone beat me to it
Perfect timing I say! I'm getting the Samsung 2253bw today. 22"
main PC or largest monitor?...some of us have 4+ computers
tri screen all the way, 15" 20" 15",
'Tri-screen, for when two just aint quite good enough'
103in projection DLP
65in Rear Projection DLP
22" widescreen and a 15" both setup on my desk.
I have 2 different computers. An HP and Mac, both bought back in 06. I don't know the exact screen measurements of the two, but the Mac is slightly larger.
At Home I've got a pair of 22 inch
At work I've got a 24 inch with 2 vertical 19's.
I prefer the 3 monitor setup as you are looking at the middle of the screen as opposed to a bezel between them.
"It's not the size of the monitor, but the DEPTH of the resolution"
Never mind. I bring nothing to the table.
24" LG, for photo editing glory. It's worth the $600, I'll say, and it has VGA, HDMI, and Component inputs.
22" widescreen and 17" standard.
Dual Samsungs.
2x22" Samsungs
15.4 laptop
Ive got a 13" tv for TV
22inch
sadly only 19 of it is used for displaying things...
I think the poll should also ask who's rocking a widescreen vs. who's still stuck with the ole 4:3.
24" sammy for my MBP (15")
23" apple
I have a dual monitor setup - not exactly sure how to measure it. Anyway, it's a 19" widescreen 1440x900 + a 17" 4:3 1280x1024. That adds up to over 30", but I don't have as much screen as 30 would suggest...
work - dual 19 inches
gaming system - 24 inches
htpc - 42 inches
dual 22" <- most economical for an awesome experience.
My biggest is a 105" DLP,
smallest 12.1" tablet pc
I still have a 17in Dell CRT for my desktop. now mind you, I turn in on to... well, I very seldom turn it on, but still. it functions. it rocks! it's 8years old I think...
now for lappyies, I roll with the 15in crowd. but I'm looking to downsize.
23" cinema display at work,
12" powerbook at home.
22" Samsung widescreen LCD.
Best monitor I've ever had.
19" widescreen Gateway. DVI. It's a good quality monitor, but I need something bigger, and more of them.
apple 22
acer 22
samsung 21
sceptre 17
unknown 15
50 philips plasma movies web
and 37 sharp aquos when its not being used by my consoles
At work, dual 20". At home, 15.4" laptop, sometimes hooked to my 52" rear project beast of a TV...it really brings my internet porn to life!
2x 24 inch
3x17 inch and I'm planning to buy a 26 inch (DS-263N) once they get back in stock.
30" Apple Cinema.
Using your TV as a monitor doesn't really count... 60" at 1680x1050 isn't fantastic.
Hey Giz, where's the love for a guy like me with dual 20s... I feel left out, the poll only has singles.
Home: 24" built into iMac.
Work: 20" Apple Display.
Both widescreen. Never going back to 4:3 or CRT.
Mine's a 13.1 inch Macbook screen. I also have a couple other old CRT monitors that I don't use anymore for obvious reasons. I'm planning on saving a few thousand dollars for a tower so I'll be sure to get a massive monitor for that.
Awesome. I'm the only person with a 12" monitor so far! Image related. [www.everex.com]
I also have a 17" (eMac) two 19", 15" (Apple G3 Educational All-In-One boatanchor) and a 7.9" (3com Audrey)
Why yes, I *do* collect a lot of legacy hardware, why do you ask?
i recently updated my monitor from 17" to 22", i don't know how i used to live on that little thing.
42" 1080p television. It's amazing. I can either run VGA into it, or since my laptop has HDMI i can just do that.
true story, I went shopping for a new 22" LCD just yesterday. But when I got to the store I couldn't stop taking my eyes off of this 24" Samsung.
I use it with my 14" laptop and I absolutely love it!
Work setup is 4 19' widescreens arrayed in an arc on the desk.

12.3, 15.2, and 13.3 laptop
17", 24", 50", 56", and 125" all HD rez's. Who cares what I connect to them; they're huge... Like me of-course
13" on Dell M1330, 24" on my desktop and a PC hooked up in the home theater-96".
And med, 1280x720 at 96" looks just fine from about 13ft away (where the couch is).
@genius74: Agreed. I was playing Bioshock on 125" 1080p last night and have to say I would trade that for all the other displays combined.
I forgot the 720p 26" in the kitchen connected to a old 15.4" laptop.
I'm one if the few with a 14" laptop. It's a Sony so kinda odd I guess. It's perfect for me, 13" is too small and 15" is too big. Just right.
I just bought a beautiful 61 incher, really a plasma TV, but HDMI inputs rule the day :)
voted on the Asus eee 7", but still 15"widescreen laptop and 19" Samcsung PC monitor, I went for the bigest since 7" wasn't realy an option
19 CRT (work Computer)
12 LCD (Laptop)
24 iMac
22 LCD (PS3 and Xbox360)
20" CRT that weighs about 50 lbs and must be close to 10 years old...
two 19"s, a 27", and my 13" Macbook.
22" 1680x1050 (work)
42" 1920x1080 (home)
17" powerbook, 15" T61, 12" X60 tablet (work/home mix).
20" at home
24" at work
32" when I'm excited
1x 22" in the center, and a 19" on each side.
