Rubik's Cubes are nice if you actually want to think, but how about for those times when you're just sitting there and you want something to fiddle with? The Neocube has 216 spherical neodymium magnets that connect and make a cube, a sphere, or any other obscene shape that springs to mind. Show me a man who doesn't like playing with magnets and I'll show you a man I don't much care for. All yours for just $34.95. Bonus video after the jump.

Simply amazing. I must have it! Bring this Quick Stop to me.
holy eff I want one!
must have!!
Those would be awesome for Occupational Therapy!
$35 seems a bit high, but I have to admit, they look like they would be fun every now and then... until the dog or kids ate some.
so cool
lets wait fot the chinese rip off comes to the 3rd world
I believe the correct statement is "Neocube is better than Rubik's Cube because there are an infinite number of right answers."
@TheCapt: Official Rubiks Cubes can cost over $25.
why not buy a bunch of small neodymium magnets and put them all together?
because this is way less time consuming and 216 neodymium magnets must cost something
Sounds like the guy is struggling with the magnets with all that heavy breathing in the background...!
Why does it seem like they tried to subliminal message people, 48 seconds in?
@robinandtami:
A ha! I was wondering how I could get my wife to support me getting one of these... but she's an OT, so perhaps she might appreciate it more than I originally though.
I work at a computer all day long, and I wonder how long it would take for me to destroy my computer if I got one of these and played with it at work.
@TheCapt: Guess what happens if you eat one rare earth magnet, wait a few hours and eat another. I'll give you a hint: there will be blood in your next bm. Lots of blood.
@EU_dig: Both videos have a "sample frame" stuck halfway through. I suspect this is some breakage on YouTube or Live Leak.
DO friggin WANT.
I'ma go order one.
...then I'm installing a faraday cage in my wallet.
It's very neat. The site is getting hammered right now, and it's not the easiest thing to render in the first place. Hope they redesign that bastard, and hope they've got enough stock to keep up.
@ninjagin: Sounds like they're already having problems:
"*Due to overwhelming demand, your delivery time may be 3-6 weeks perhaps longer depending on your global location*"
You could so hurt yourself with these...
*goes and buys four and sticks together*
AHA!
@ninjagin: how do redesign a bunch of magnets stuck together that are bougt for the purpose of shape shifting, like stronger magnets, more of them, different default shape?
GREATEST warning ever, quoted directly from their site:
"This product contains small balls."
The rest of the warnings are a little spooky though...
Shouldn't the magnets also repel each other half the time? I am surprised we don't see that happening in any part of the video.
Cool, and definitely interesting, but not worth the price.
Ah! Must. Get. One. Or TWO!!!!
This product contains small balls.
sign of nano-machines to come.
Hey, if I swallow these, can I run them up and down my digestive system with an exterior magnet?
@bandit: I believe that they would spin to align properly.
@Gann: All the more reason to get them now before they get sued by the parent of a would-be darwin award winner.
I want to buy a set but the website is too damn slow cuz of the traffic!
I just love the disclaimer: "The NdFeB material which is the magnetic material in the NeoCube is a relatively new material, and long term effects of direct skin exposure are therefore unknown." However there are no studies that confirm that this is harmful in any way... They use to said the same about plutonium didn't they? Anyway, i want one.
Also It's $29.95 for the 216 version.
For $34.95 you get an extra "mini" cube that's 3x3x3 in dimensions
This is easily the coolest toy I've seen in years. Must have it!
@bandit: dude, they're round.
OMG!
I want this for Christmas!
I just ordered. God Bless PayPal. I can't wait!
this is rad. I want to order it, but I want to keep it at my desk. probably not a great idea. what with all the computer monitors and computer.
i.... want.....one
@brutek: only if you want it to cause massive internal damage...
NeoCube + MiniCube = EPIC WIN!!!

That's a really good price. I priced them out at amazingmagnets.com (where I buy my toys...er, um, magnets) at $120 for 216 quarter inch spheres.
Heh, and I never thought I'd see this in a disclaimer: "This product contains small balls." rofl
Oh damn... I want one, except that that would destroy my life. I could easily spend about 8 hours playing with that each day.
...just don't get it near your automatic or wind-able watch, credit cards, etc. I still think it's a small price to pay for something so cool and useless.
I'd store it next to my green laser pointer and infrared thermometer.
Why there is a subliminal message (flash of a picture) on the first video?!
Maybe that is why you guys like it.
Yeah man, that pic of the neocube at 00:49... they're on the road to world domination with that one.
@Synik103: It was the instant assembly of the neo-icosahedron at that point in the second video that sent me from "Awesome!" to a slavering mindless beast, lusting only for tiny round magnets.
I've never seen any product more perfectly designed to pry open my wallet!
The Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled a number of "toys" like this because of the possibility of young children swallowing the magnets. If more than one magnet is swallowed, with a short time interval in between, then the magnets can attract each other through the intestinal wall and cause the intestine to pinch or twist, causing perforation or infection. So I'll be surprised if this product stays on the market very long.

I talked to the NeoCube guy, and he said he has one safely sitting on his computer desk, though keeps it several inches from his tower. He also said it's more likely to erase a credit card, so don't rub your cards all over, as fun as that may sound.
@CrouchingBruin: You know, not unlike video games, TV, movies, etc. there is a market for things out there besides the "I'm going to stick it in my mouth" niche.
This is the power of Gizmodo.
You guys know you could just search for Neodymium Spheres on the internet and you can find prices that are much better.
Do not taunt NeoCube.
Neocube bought, works out cheaper than buying magnets seperatly on ebay! and thats with the £12 shipping!
I don't wanna buy it on the internet, I WANNA BUY IT AT TOYS'R'US NOW!!!!
Nice desk toy.
@_badtziscool: Go ahead, show us a link with a better price cause I sure as hell haven't been able to.
I must have one right now....
And now, thanks to the increased interest in the product, they've raised the price quite a bit since last night.
@EU_dig: for the same reason I thought this was retarded before I watched the video and now I want one too_
Rubix still Rules !
