The bipedal humanoid will be called Maido-kun, and it’s being developed by SOHLA—Space Oriented Higashiosaka Leading Association—a business group in Osaka. The group knows it’s going to be hard, but they are working to get the $10.5 million robot ready for launch in 2015. JAXA will send their own wheeled robot then—after discarding bipeds themselves.
