The latest Windows Phone 7 ROM has already been unlocked and has plenty of cool new stuff to check out, including call history and notifications, dialer interfaces, and Office, which we caught a tantalizing glimpse of last week.

The new image comes as part of the refreshed Windows Phone Developer kit, updated to play nice with the final release of Visual Studio 2010. Though everything’s apparently still fairly rough around the edges, the additions might be worth checking out.
To that end, John recently put together a helpful how-to guide for getting up and running with the Windows Phone 7 emulator, and he reports that you should just be able to swap in the new image and start exploring. [XDA Developers via Engadget]
