A Dyson vacuum is almost as much a design-lust object as an appliance, and the new DC41 Animal (cool name for a vacuum!) only pushes that rep. Where'd all those weird hoses go? Hidden with minimalist magics.
The Ball vacs have been around for a while, but the DC41 makes has the best balls of all. There's a new shape-adapting form, which shifts the ball's surface to fit various floor types for maximum sucking. As well, the vacuum mechanism itself has been crammed into the rotating base—it's purely aesthetic, but, hey, you know what you're paying for when you start looking at one of these. The Animal hits today for $600. [Dyson]
