After rumors suggested that Twitter’s mobile apps were due for an update, the goods arrived today, bringing a handful of substantial updates, including expanded tweets (viewing links, videos, and images inline), the ability to set notifications for individual people you follow, search autocomplete, and new discovery tools for events.
The expanded tweets section is the biggest news of the update, as Twitter also added support for links from the likes of Kickstarter, Vimeo, Etsy, and more. Many of these features have already been available on the web version of Twitter, but bringing them to Mobile is an important first step to unifying the feature set of Twitter apps on every platform.
