The big release date for Windows 8 has long been set for October 26th. But what about Windows Phone 8? Mary Jo Foley of ZDNet reports that Windows Phone 8 will be launching a few days after, on October 29th.

It’s all a little confusing because Samsung just revealed its new Windows Phone 8 hardware and Nokia is expected to bring out the big guns next week but Microsoft itself won’t ‘launch’ Windows Phone 8 until the end of October—which will be nearly two months after the fact.
