The internet was freaking out yesterday because holy shit! It looked like Google ran over a donkey with a Street View car in Kweneng, Botswana. But no need to call up PETA, Google says it absolutely did not commit assicide.
Street View tourists of Africa were up in arms over an image that showed a donkey lying listlessly in the road, presumed dead. But Google explained in a blog post today that ol’ Eeyore was probably just taking a little nap or maybe even a dust bath. For evidence, it included a series of four images (condensed into GIF form above for dramatic effect) to support its claim. So unless a lion ate our four-legged friend, he’s still alive somewhere in the brush of Botswana. The prosecution rests. [Google via TechCrunch]
