You may have heard that the humble computer mouse is an endangered species, threatened by the rise of modern touch gestures. This may be true, but gesture based-computing isn't a zero-sum game. Millions of people still use a mouse every day, and some of those mice have slick gesture capabilities.

If you've got a Mac, the Magic Mouse is the mouse you want. Apple's Magic Mouse came out in 2009 and it's currently the best mouse Apple makes, not including the Magic Trackpad — which I'm not. Basically, it's a perfect companion to a MacBook or Mac Mini. The Magic Mouse is undeniably stylish, but it's also got a whole lot of functionality for Macs: you can program it to perform basically any Mission Controlling-gesture you can do with the Apple trackpad. Right now Best Buy — who have been extremely competitive on Apple prices recently — is selling refurbs for $35. That's 50% less than everywhere else, and a genuinely stellar deal. [Best Buy]

If you're not a Mac user, you should take a look at Microsoft's Arc Touch mouse, a gadget some considered to be the Redmond response to the Magic Mouse. Like Apple's mouse, it features a stylish design and gesture capabilities, but it's a little less expensive and should play better with Windows. Best Buy has the best price on this mouse too—they're selling the White version for $23 and it's usually $45. [Best Buy]
