How Many Strips of Packing Tape Do You Need To Lift a Car?

So you’ve got yourself a car that needs lifting, and have secured an industrial crane for the job, but did you also remember to get a giant harness for the lift? Probably not. Don’t worry, though, as long as you can scrounge a few rolls of cellophane packing tape, you’re good to go.

Vsauce teamed up with some of the lads from Fast Furious & Funny to see just how much packing tape would be needed to lift a 3,000+ pound Ford Mondeo. Surprisingly, just 70 strips of tape were needed to get it off the ground. So it turns out that duct tape isn’t the only member of the adhesive family with remarkable durability, but it’s still the ugliest. [YouTube via The Awesomer]
