This is absolutely wonderful. Hopefully, this will trigger M$ to do the same with the 360. I would love to have Hulu on my big screen.

Can the PS3 connect to a bluetooth keyboard/mouse?

That would be amazing, however I think Sony's devices would benefit from Google's lightweight Chome browser. I'm sure there are strategic reasons as to why Google wouldn't want to partner just yet with Sony. Regardless, I hope this isn't simply a webified story.

@Michai: Because there currently isn't a PPC architecture for Chrome.

Both old Macs and The PS3 use PPC chips (although the PS3 is WAY beyond more advanced than a G4 Quicksilver). It's the same reason old Macs can't use Chrome.

This would be Awesome, I don't have many complaints about the PS3's browser except for the fact that it does not play well with 3rd party apps/plug-ins, (Flash, Java etc) and it gets stuck on pop-ups. Firefox support would hopefully correct most/all those issues.

With the tons of support that firefox has for add-ons I'll bet it could get to the point where sites won't be able to tell that you're on a PS3

@Noobs-R-Us: It may not be as good as browsing on a computer, but I wouldn't say that its browser sucks balls. Considering that it's not really expected for someone to do the majority of their web browsing on a gaming system, it is pretty functional, especially considering they have to make it functional for a controller with a much more limited number of keys as a mouse and keyboard. The main problem I run into is that it doesn't take a lot of windows being open for it to freeze up, but that's what I have a computer for.

@ceilingFANBOY: That's really what I was complaining about when I said that they sucked balls. Their browser is buggy as hell and would freeze and hang at a drop of a hat. Also, it's not as compatible with all sites as the other browsers.

I used to be a fan of Firefox, but lately, it's been crashing on me regularly. Plus it takes up an insane amount of RAM. What's up with that?

@Hello Mister Walrus: I've moved on from Firefox... before it was awesome, now it goes to 84% CPU Usage, 3548MB of RAM... with only 3 tabs open. I've been using more Chrome and Opera... mostly used Firefox due to Adblock and download manager support, but now that the other two do the same, I'm happy.

@ph15h: It was probably those addons and others that was crashing your browser. Before blaming the browser you should disable the addons and see if it has the same problem. I haven't had any memory leaks with Firefox itself in a long time. Some of the add-ons stink.

Some people think that it is a good idea to install more than 1 adblock database which in fact will suck ram real quick if you install more than one.

@mrkokkinos: Go to Lifehacker and look up the dev channel for Chrome. Admittedly, it doesn't work as well as the Firefox adblock, but it gets the job done.

@bustedchain: I did disable most add-ons. I mainly kept Fireshot, Adblock Plus, NoScript and Greasemonkey with 1 or 2 scripts enabled (can't remember). I only have EasyListUSA as a subscription for Adblock Plus along with some self-added entries.

    @ph15h:

Yeah, I am 100% certain there is something going on beyond Firefox itself. What version of FF are you on? I am on 3.5.5 with Adblock Plus 1.1.1, AVG Safe Search, Greasmonkey 0.8.20090920.2 (only 1 script: YouseableTubeFix), and I am using 56MB of ram on a fresh load of this page. I was using 170MB of RAM after having surfed Facebook, 3 Facebook Games, and lots of other websites (Virtual Christmas shopping rocks!) Anyway: Disable Fireshot and NoScript temporarily just to troubleshoot... check to make sure you are on FireFox 3.5.5 and maybe even perform a reinstall. (Don't uninstall, just install on top of it with a freshly downloaded FF 3.5.5 installer. One of the updates may have screwed things up.)

If that doesn't work, disable all AddOns temporarily and see if the browser is stable again. Maybe one of the AddOns that doesn't cause problems for me needs an update or is corrupt.

For the record: I have had several Add-ons cause problems and one time it was a Greasemonkey script going bananas (or was it going apeshit? one of the two!). Once I got rid of the offending script it behaved better.

Finally, you can download one of many bootable cds that contains the memtestx86 program and run it overnight one evening just before bedtime. It will check your ram to make sure a stick of ram hasn't gone bad. I've had that happen too and it's not pretty when it manifests itself.

Just to be clear, lots of things on the iPhone would be surprising. An app that streams a videofeed of me fucking my cat would be, to say the least, surprising.
