The lead track off the band’s 2013 sophomore effort Talon of the Hawk “Au Revoir” is about as straight-forward as the best goodbyes. The instrumentation is delightfully simple, the vocal performance is modest, with just the right touch of yodel-y imperfection, and it’s dumb joke is actually pretty OK and somehow manages to get just a little poignant.
It’s been a while since I took a French class, but I think that pronunciation might be a little off. That only serves to add to the charm of this delightful little “fuck you; I’m out” anthem.
