A long time coming—and perhaps spurred by the newly powerful hardware—the operating system will be freely available via the Windows Developer Program for IoT later this year. There’s now word on whether the version of Windows 10 will be any lighter than other installs, but Microsoft explains that it will be sharing more details soon.
