1.2TB “TeraTelly” Launches

Interact-TV has launched a 1.2TB version of their Telly home theater PC line, cleverly referring to it as the TeraTelly. Like previous models, the TeraTelly runs a customized version of Linux rather than Windows Media Center, and is reasonably upgradeable as well—if the included 512MB is insufficient for you, upgrade it to 1GB. If you want to burn DVDs or CDs from your 1.2TB media library, upgrade the DVD/CD to a DVD or CD burner. Interact-TV doesn’t mind; in fact, they encourage such behavior. Anyway, doesn’t seem like too bad a deal for the $2,000 asking price. I understand Sony’s VAIO-X is supposed to be around twice that with not much more functionality—not enough to justify doubling the price, anyway.
