Ben Platt really outed himself as a nepo baby during the promotion of his film Dear Evan Hansen, where Platt reprises his role as the titular Evan Hansen after a lengthy stint on Broadway in the live stage version of the story. After Platt’s depiction of Evan Hansen received scrutiny (because maybe a then 27-year-old man doesn’t exactly look like a teenage boy), people began to put two and two together that one of the producers, Marc Platt, was his father. Ben Platt said in response to the casting backlash: “Were I not to do the movie, it probably wouldn’t get made”
