Squid Game: Netflix has been teasing the second season of its 2021 South Korean smash hit for some time, so 2023 feels like it could be the year we see it—though 2024 is also a good possibility. (Netflix)

Star Trek: Discovery: Never fear, 2023 will be yet another year stuffed with all things Trek. We already pointed out Picard in February; later in the year, Discovery’s fifth season will arrive. (Paramount+)

Star Trek: Lower Decks: The animated series started off strong but 2022’s season three wasn’t our favorite; however, we’ll still be tuning in for season four when it premieres. (Paramount+)

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: Season one was a perfectly executed triumph; Captain Pike and crew will be back for more some time this year. (Paramount+)

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew: Created by Spider-Man: No Way Home director Jon Watts and writer Chris Ford, this Star Wars show stars Jude Law; it takes place during the same time period as The Mandalorian and will aim for a tone similar to the Amblin adventures of the 1980s. (Disney+)

Star Wars: Visions: This surprisingly great series, featuring short films by various animators set across the Star Wars universe, will return this year for a second season. (Disney+)

Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures: An animated series aimed at very young Star Wars fans, or at least very young children of Star Wars fans. (Disney+, Disney Junior)
