At age 74, Bruce Maynard has decided to walk across America. But he refuses to go without creature comforts like his cellphone, let alone camping gear and food. So he’s enlisting the help of a solar-powered stroller.
Dubbed “Sam,” the once jogging stroller has been fitted with an intimidating solar panel that will, among other things, help propel the motorized rig up hills.
Maynard expects that he can cover 30 miles a day with the help of Sam, stopping occasionally to aid strangers along the way. Though on cloudy days, beware. He may just be after your power sockets. [The News Tribune via inhabitots]
