Luke Zoontjens from the University of Adelaide in Australia has announced his intent to transform car exhaust into a viable air conditioning system. Capturing the heat from the mufflers will allow him to create high-amplitude sound waves, The waves resonate inside sealed metal tubes to form cold spots. Blow air over the spots and embrace the chill inside your car. The successful application of such technology would significantly reduce fuel usage and pollution, so this may be something to keep an eye out for.

This just explains the technology a little more in-depth: http://www.npr.org/templates/stor…
