A Girl’s Teddy Bear Fights A Monster In This Trio Of Short Horror Films

Brent Sims’ Grave Shivers is an anthology of short horror films surrounding children at bedtime, with plenty of monsters and gore—and in one case, a little girl’s plus defender.

Grave Shivers was funded through a successful Kickstarter campaign and it is great fun with its mix of practical effects and CG, although some of its ideas do seem a bit familiar. The first segment, “Teddy Scares,” reminds me a great deal of Alex Panagopoulos’ illustration of a brave teddy bear, which has been optioned for a feature film. And “Teething Tiffany” has a bit in common with Juan J Ruiz’s two-line story, which first appeared on reddit, and was the basis for a one-minute film we recently featured—although “Teething Tiffany” has an important difference.
