The new app lets you watch live streams as well as archived programming and even some exclusive content. The overall look fits within the standard Apple TV template interface, but the company says that it's working with Apple to incorporate notifications and personalized streams, similar to how you're used to getting them from news apps on your phone.

One day, this could be a great way to watch breaking news, much the way the Apple TV has been a boon for watching live sports. ABC News says it's working on bringing similar apps to other platforms, but doesn't have a timeline on when it might hit.
