Good news, Bubbline shippers: Adventure Time is getting another spin-off, this time focused on fan-favorite characters Princess Bubblegum and Marceline the Vampire Queen. Adam Muto returns to showrun and executive produce after serving similar roles on Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake and Adventure Time: Distant Lands.

HBO Max released this logo, which leans into different fonts to set up the contrast between its protagonists:

According to an HBO Max press release, Adventure Time: Bubblegum and Marceline has a 10-episode series order, with a logline that’s as vague as it is intriguing: “Princess Bubblegum and Marceline the Vampire Queen journey across the farthest reaches of Ooo, encountering familiar faces and new dangers.”

For his part, Muto sounds thrilled to be diving back into Ooo. “Continuing in the spirit of Fionna and Cake, I’m excited that the next Adventure Time series will feature two more of my favorite characters: Bubblegum and Marceline,” he said in the release. “It’s been a fantastic opportunity to revisit old friends and build onto the world of Adventure Time.”

Sam Register, the president of Warner Bros. Animation, Cartoon Network Studios, and Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe, is similarly jazzed. “Adventure Time remains one of the most inventive and beloved worlds in animation. Alongside our partners at HBO Max, we’re thrilled to continue expanding that universe with Adam and his incredibly talented team.”

So far there’s no word on when Adventure Time: Bubblegum and Marceline will arrive on HBO Max.
