The so-called Horse Capital of the World and home of the University of Kentucky is Lexington, and this southern city is located in the heart of Kentucky’s Bluegrass region. Lexington is located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, which means that when the leaves start turning, the city is one of the best places to be to surround yourself with fall foliage.
