Good article on multi-region DVD players, the ones that let you play DVDs from anywhere in the world, not just discs encoded for your “region”. Like that player from Norcent (pictured at right) that can be made region-free with a few simple steps. The whole concept of region coding was just created to better control the market in DVDs, and it’s become a major inconvenience for consumers, especially with movies that only make it onto DVD in Japan or Europe.
