You've heard of unbelievably dumb state laws before, right? Like how you can't play dominoes on Sunday or that you can only wear slippers indoors or that you're limited to two dildos per household. There's tons more that don't need to exist and they're all ridiculous! Photographer Olivia Locher wanted to poke fun of those stupid state laws in her photo series I Fought The Law, which, well, shows photographs of 'illegal' things happening. It's genius.

Above we have two laws being broken. In Alabama, it's illegal to have an ice cream cone in your back pocket at all times. In Hawaii, coins are not allowed to cover one's ears. Seriously.

You can see her full photo series here and read more about her project at PetaPixel. Locher is planning to photograph different dumb laws from the 50 states so we can expect more hilarity like the ones below.

Pickles must bounce to officially be considered pickles in Connecticut and it's illegal to wear pants that are 'form fitting' around the waist in Delaware.

DISCUSSION

The reason behind the law prohibiting a person from carrying an ice cream cone in their pocket goes back to horse thieves. A thief would untie a horses and the horse would follow him away licking the ice cream cone. If he was caught he could beat the charge by saying the horse chose to follow him.
