Why would Amazon have to spend $1.7m on security for Jeff Bezos? Crazed Nook fans? Whatever the reason, it appears Amazon stepped up $500,000 extra on security between 2008 and 2009 for their bald CEO.
His salary remained the same, at $81,840 (with a 21 per cent stake in Amazon), but together with the $1.7m cost for his personal security, that makes him one expensive exec. [WSJ]
