Amazon Now Offers Kindle Daily Deals

If you have a Kindle (or a PC/iOS/Android device), and like cheap books (I assume you do, but who knows, maybe you derive pleasure from hemorrhaging cash), Amazon now offers a daily deal for books.

Quietly emerging from the mist yesterday, the Kindle Daily Deal will introduce a single book at midnight PST each day at a discounted price. That deal will last for 24 hours before the next one pops up. Today's deal is Water For Elephants, a novel "Set in the circus world circa 1932" featuring "star-crossed lovers who overcome incredible odds in a world in which even love is a luxury that few can afford." If that's your thing, get on it. [Amazon, USA Today]

Good for them. This is a great idea. Frankly, their daily deals is what got me started with using their MP3 store and now I use it, almost exclusively.

For the past few months, I have been on the fence about whether to go for a Nook or a Kindle. Both of them have apps that I can use on my current iPad and both charge almost the exact same amount for their content. If Amazon can start offering books that I want to read for $3 or $4 bucks then I think Kindle is the winner.
