American Gods Continues to Have the Best Casting Ever

American Gods has added Cloris Leachman and Peter Stormare to its cast and is now, officially, our most anticipated new series. (Like it wasn’t before.)

American Gods has added Chris Obi (Snow White and the Huntsman) as Anubis, Mousa Kraish (Superbad) as The Jinn, Stormare (Fargo, Prison Break) as Czernobog, and Leachman (Everything) as Zorya Vechernyaya. All of that casting looks, on paper, to be damn near perfect.

That’s after they cast Ian McShane as Mr. Wednesday, Ricky Whittle as Shadow Moon, Emily Browning as Laura Moon, and Jonathan Tucker as Low Key Lyesmith. We’ve got some relative unknowns and some really, really strong character actors filling out this cast. And David Slade (Hannibal) is directing the pilot.

Look, I don’t know what to say about Starz’s American Gods anymore. Everything they announce makes the book fan in me so happy that I worry expectations might be too high. I just want the TV show to make everything look just like I saw it in my head when I read the book for the first time, okay? Can they do that?

Actually, if anyone can, Bryan Fuller can.
