Could it be? Reasonable thinking from the always-unreasonable music industry? Don’t play games with my heart, people. This better be for real.
The New York Times is reporting that there are murmurs inside the industry saying that people are starting to warm to the idea of selling DRM-free MP3s, just like eMusic (my favorite online music store) is doing now. Even better? The change could happen in as soon as one or two years.
Just imagine, the time may be near when you can legally purchase music that will play on any portable player and any computer, allowing you to burn CDs easily and back up your songs without a hassle! Somebody pinch me.
