With a new Wolverine movie on the horizon and production on X-Men: Days of Future Past clipping along, it looks like Fox is looking to further expand its corner of the Marvel Universe with a Cable-led X-Force movie. And we may be seeing a Magneto spinoff as well.
After the site X-MenFilms.com noticed that Fox had nabbed the domain X-ForceMovie.com, some folks began tweeting at X-Force creator Rob Liefeld about the possibility that the film was in development. Liefeld confirmed, but with a caveat:
Yup. Was informed in March RT @Graysonmm: @robertliefeld http://t.co/il1lbRtDud an X-Force movie?
— robliefeld (@robertliefeld) July 12, 2013
And by informed, I mean told that an X-Force film was in the planning stages. Much different than shooting a film.

When they cast an X-Force film then its reason to celebrate. They have a Magneto film in 'development' as well. Proceed with caution.

I can pretty much eliminate some sites suggestion that the Milligan X-Statix stuff is in the mix. An X-Force film is Cable. Is Deadpool.

However, a few hours after Liefeld sent these tweets, the Hollywood Reporter announced that Kick-Ass 2 writer and director Jeff Wadlow is onboard to script the X-Force film, and possibly direct it as well. So it’s still in the early stages, but there’s a very strong possibility that we’ll be seeing an X-Force movie in the not-too-distant future.
