See what I did there? Anyways: Anne Rice announced on her son Christopher’s internet variety hour/thing “The Dinner Party Show” that her popular Vampire Chronicles series was no longer finished, and that Lestat is going to return from his metaphorical grave.

Rice claimed that the tenth book in the series, Blood Canticle, was the final volume back when it was published in 2003. But now she’s writing a book titled Prince Lestat, set after the Memnoch the Devil, and it is…

“…a big Vampire Chronicle, and it’s all about Lestat and all about the vampires and what they’re doing right now, how they’re coming to terms with everything that’s happened to them and how Lestat is dealing with the demand from all sides that he step forward and become some sort of leader of the tribe.”

Prince Lestat already has a publication date — October 28th, 2014 — so Rice must either be done or extremely close to done writing it. Either way, it’s definitely happening. I’m curious to see how a generation of Twilight fans react to Lestat and his less-then-glitter-y kindred.
