AOpen has set what they’re calling a “new milestone” (although I might have an altogether different phrase for it) with their introduction of a “Negative Ion Mouse”. Says company president Bernie Tsai, “The mini negative ion mouse is another killer product to be marketed this year.” While a phrase like that could be easily taken many different ways, we have to assume that he meant to extol the odor-killing virtues of the new mouse.
The mouse requires a DC power input of 12V but will generate negative ions which they tell us can clean the air, make it virus resistant and have deodorant effects. If for nothing but that last point, the mouse might be worth its weight in gold at you next LAN party, although I’m questioning how efficiently it will operate with a gamer’s sweaty palm all over it.
