Apple's Halloween Treat Feels Like a Trick

Illustration for article titled Apples Halloween Treat Feels Like a Trick

With the way Apple's been making money these days, I wouldn't have been surprised to hear they were giving out real iPods to any trick-or-treaters visiting their stores yesterday. They weren't, of course, but the alternative was pretty cute.

Seen here is a magnetized iPod bookmark. If you were a little guy or gal making the rounds in Bellevue, Washington Saturday evening, you got one of these in your candy sack.

Eat less candy? Read more? Indoctrinating America's youth against the the Kindle? We can't be sure what Apple's true intent was here, but what we do know is the kiddies seemed to love it. The bookmarks were all gone by 7:30 p.m. [iPhone Savior - Thanks, Seth]

I got one of these bookmarks, and now have a lawsuit pending with Apple because of it.

I went home Saturday night, and was enjoying a quiet evening, reading an ebook with the Kindle app on my iPod. (As the World Dies, by Rhiannon Frater, if anyone cares)

I discovered I was feeling sleepy, so I inserted the new Apple bookmark into my iPod, and now, it won't turn on.

Sure, it was sort of difficult to insert the bookmark, and I had to push really hard, but, c'mon......

I thought Apple "just worked".....

If anyone else has this same issue, we can make it a class action.

I wonder if ponies needs a new client..... #ipod
