New line of personal video players from Archos. The AV300 comes in 20GB and 40GB varieties, both of which have 3.8-inch color LCD screens, TV out ports for connecting to a television, can record up to 80 hours of programming directly off of television (courtesy of an attachment), and can play video files encoded in MPEG-4. Probably no one at Archos will cop to this, but the idea behind these and other “video iPods” (a phrase you’re going to be hearing a lot) is that you can use them to watch all those TV shows and movies that you’ve downloaded over file-sharing networks.
