WMMNA has a piece on James Auger and Jimmy Loizeau’s Augmented Animals concept. Spiked jackets for aerial protection on mice (and other rodents) and an “acorn positioning system” which helps squirrels remember where they buried their food are just a couple of examples of the systems these two have developed. A jacket with “motorized telescopic defense spikes and a vertical motion sensor” is sufficiently awesome, even if we have to kill every hawk on the planet to create it.
