Heady director of Drive, Nicolas Winding Refn has found a home for his rebooted Barbarella TV series. But will it still have the Excessive Machine?
Deadline broke the news that Refn’s sexy remake of the 1968 movie (which originally starred Jane Fonda) will premiere on Amazon Studios. But even though Refn is working as executive producer, the series itself is still on the hunt for a showrunner.
As of right now, Amazon has only ordered up a pilot, and if they like what they see they will take it to series. No word on whether Refn will direct the premiere episode, but we hope he does.
