As you all know, we love us some watches. Gizmodo John just reviewed the Bathys 100 Fathoms diver, a heavy-duty PVD-coated diver designed for and by a surfer.
Overall, it was a nice piece. The movement is only special to watch nuts—the "big date" function you see there is basically a dream complication for many of us and this watch uses a Ronda quartz movement which is one of the better ones out there. What's nice about this watch, however, is that it really cuts its own swathe through the jungle of diving watches. Everyone right now is basically trying to look like something that might be attached to a diving bell in 1903. Instead, Bathys has created a unique and well-designed utilitarian watch for fans of water sports of all stripes.
