Nani Marquina shows us that not all (bicycle) tires are destined to become fodder for long-burning fires in boring Simpsons episodes. Instead, designer Ariadna Miquel has developed a carpet made from bicycle inner tubes. “The Bicicleta collection was born out of research into the possibility of using recycled rubber to create new textures.” A trip to India was the primary inspiration and I must admit I now have a very strange attraction to discovering just what this feels like on one’s feet. I’m sure it’ll give you a whole different type of rug burn, at the very least.
