Tychi Systems has developed and launched the BioKnob. The system uses biometric fingerprint scanning for verification and can be programmed to accept up to 100 different users. One downside is that it is powered by rechargeable batteries. A fully charged battery will last for 1000 unlockings and a battery warning will activate when there are only 50 unlockings left, but this could still mean trouble for those lazy bums who don t get around to recharging the batteries. It will be available in two colors and no word yet on availability and price.
