A meeting between the top electronic firms in the world has resulted in a nice and happy conclusion: Bluetooth is the future. Bluetooth will be used to stream high quality video throughout the household and home entertainment devices and these products and technology is expected to make a debut in 2008 with prototypes showing up as early as next year.
According to Reuters the new Bluetooth will use Ultra Wideband radio technologies and have speeds upwards of 100 megabits per second, which is well over 100 times faster than the speeds currently available for Bluetooth. The upgraded Bluetooth technologies will be able to support distances upwards of 50 feet.
