A rugged pocket-sized speaker that floats and adjusts to its position
The SoundLink Flex has some impressive features, including surprisingly good bass, a rugged silicone-wrapped exterior, Bluetooth 5.3 with multipoint support, a programmable shortcut button, an integrated microphone, and an integrated EQ you can adjust in the Bose app. It does all of this while weighing about 1.3 pounds.
PositionIQ senses how the speaker is positioned and adjusts the sound accordingly. Whether the speaker is standing upright, lying flat, or hung upside down, it provides optimal sound quality. You don’t have to think about how you want to place it. The Flex is also very durable, with a silicone-wrapped body that can handle drops, shocks, and rust, and it’s protected against dust and water thanks to the IP67 rating. This is perfect for hiking, trips to the beach, or spending time at the pool.
Bluetooth 5.3 lets you connect to devices up to 30 feet away. With multipoint connectivity, you can connect to more than one device at a time, making it easy to share control of the playlist with another person. Compatible Snapdragon Sound devices support aptX Adaptive.
Using the Bose app, you can adjust the equalizer, see the remaining battery life, and customize the function assigned to the shortcut button. For example, you could assign the button to start playing Spotify with a single click or use the button to activate your phone’s voice assistant.
You can also connect two Bose speakers together to create larger sound. Stereo Mode splits the audio into separate left and right channel signals for a wider sound field. You can also use Party Mode, which plays the same song on both speakers for greater overall volume. For battery life, the SoundLink Flex lasts up to 12 hours before needing to be charged again. Charging takes about 4 hours via USB-C, and it includes an integrated microphone for hands-free phone calls.
The SoundLink Flex measures 7.9 x 3.6 x 2.1 inches, and its small size lets you carry it in a backpack or other bag without taking up much space. The utility loop lets you hang it from a tree branch, hook, or backpack strap, and since it floats, you don’t have to worry about it slipping underwater. Bose’s SoundLink Flex Bluetooth Speaker provides powerful sound in a rugged yet portable package. Its compact size and utility loop design make it easy to take anywhere.
