Canon has decided to throw in the towel when it comes to analog video cameras, deciding instead of focus exclusively on digital video options. As of this summer, the last two Canon analog recorders will be phased out, although thankfully Canon will keep spare repair stocks in place for the next seven years. Sales of Canon’s analog cameras peaked in the early ’90s and have been falling steadily since, to about 10 percent of their peak totals last year.
